We want things. But often, we don’t get what we want because we don’t know how.
The post talks about how “how” kills our progress.
When you begin by pondering the ‘how’ (how to pen that novel, shed those pounds, secure that promotion), uncertainty can quickly overwhelm you, stifling your initial efforts.
The truth is, you don’t need to have all the answers upfront; the ‘how’ becomes clear as you progress. What truly matters is the ‘what.’
What do you want?
Once you’ve pinpointed your goal, take that first step. Start with the smallest, most manageable task within your grasp.
Once you’ve initiated action, don’t pause. Commit to dedicating a set amount of time each day—whether it’s 15 minutes, half an hour, an hour, or more. Be flexible, but ensure you do something every day.
Understand that some days might feel like setbacks, where progress appears elusive. Embrace these moments, as they’re an integral part of any journey. Everyone experiences sidesteps, regressions, and failures.
Successful individuals persevere. They hold onto their ‘what’ and persist.
At some juncture, doubt may creep in. You might convince yourself that you no longer want it, deserve a break, or that others deem your aspirations foolish. Recognize this for what it is, fear, and keep advancing.
Never halt.
This is the path. This is how professionals operate.
The ‘how’ is insignificant.
Identify your ‘what,’ and chase it relentlessly.
