What’s my thing?

People with a large audience have a thing.

They have a singular subject they repeatedly talk about.

And the crazy thing is, their audience can’t get enough of it.

Take Seth Godin as an example—the undisputed king of modern marketing. Anyone who follows Seth knows what he’s all about and will be anxious to read/listen/watch anything he makes.

Seth is repeating the same information and is still growing in popularity.

He’s picked his space and stuck his flag in the sand.

I need to do the same thing. I need to decide what I want to talk about and start going deep. An inch wide and a mile deep.

So what should I talk about?

Well…I’m into fitness. I wrote a book about it. I could talk about that.

I could talk about gym machines and how much they suck.

I could talk about split routines and how much they suck.

I could talk about actually how little is required to get great results.

This I could do.

What else?

I’m big into creating money.

Not earning money. Creating money. There is a difference.

I tell my kids to create their own money instead of relying on people to give them money.

We live in a time when information is free and abundant. Anyone with a phone or computer can learn anything and then create value.

We don’t have to rely on companies to employ and care for us. We have the tools to care for ourselves and do the opposite of companies.

Companies give less value to more people.

We can give more value to fewer people. Ooo, that’s good.

Give more value to fewer people.
